The Earthquake Effect

One hundred days on, there is still something dreamlike about the days that followed the 8.0-magnitude earthquake, which jolted Sichuan and triggered tremors in many parts of China on May 12. Every China TV network throw out their schedule to cover, at length, the earthquake. Every one of us, even the most levelheaded folk you know,choke up more than 10 times that days. Premier Wen Jiabao arrived at Wenchuan as soon as possible,organizing and deploying the earthquake relief without caring himself. All walks of life, from super stars to ones around us, try our best to help the rehabilitate of the earthquake-striken area: Chenglong donates RMB 10,000,000 at the first time; Jet Li quits acting for 1`year; the Lama read Buddhist ...ures to ward off disasters and bring good wishes to the victims; our university also organizes collections.

Facing the massive earthquake ,we chinese get together to overcome the disaster and to pray for the people in the earthquake-striken area,we hold a 3-days period of national mourning for victims of the earthquake,we also receive the respect of the foreigners.

I hold that our chinese showed the best of ourselves in the days after earthquake: a feeling and a compassion and openness to emotional ... that it had for too long kept in heart. At the same time, we realized the meaning of our lives, we showed the value of our race.

Premier Wen once wrote: Challenges make a nation much stronger. to the students of Beichuan Middle School. We believe that China is capable of emerging from the aftermath of the disaster and our country will be stronger.
